PUNJAB POLICE ARREST A WOMAN FROM ROHTAS IN BIHAR FOR STEALING JEWELRIES

Sasaram, 24 June 2023, (RNI): Punjab police with the help of their Rohtas counterpart arrested a woman from Hatiya under Karakat police station in Rohtas district of Bihar in connection with stealing of jewelries from a house at Punjab. The police also recovered some stolen jewelries from her. The Punjab police produced her in the court and later took her to Punjab with them. The arrested woman was identified as Puja alias Nidhi Devi Varana village under Rajpur police station while her parents’ village is at Hatiya under Karakat police station. She had taken shelter at Hatiya village.

SHO Karakat police station Neha Kumari said that Manjeet Singh of New Defense Colony Phase One under Ragpur police station in Punjab had filed a named FIR with the police under Paragpur police station of Jalandhar district in Punjab on June 1, 2023 against Puja alias Nidhi Singh in connection with stealing of jewelries worth about Rs. 15 lakh from his house. In the FIR he said that Puja alias Nidhi Devi worked as house maid in his house. She with the help of her associate Rohit Chaurasia of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh stole jewelries from the house and fled away. Following the mobile surveillance, the Punjab police located that Puja alias Nidhi Devi has taken shelter at Hatiya village under Karakat police station of Rohtas district in Rohtas. The Punjab police along with Manjeet Singh reached Karakat police station and with the help of their Rohtas counterpart arrested Puja alias Nidhi Devi from Hatiya and recovered some stolen jewelries from her.
