ARA------------------------Floral tributes were paid to a famous freedom fighter Professor Abdul Bari on his death anniversary. The programme was organized under aegis of Lok Chetna Manch. Senator, Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Professor Baliraj Thakur presided over the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Baliraj Thakur said that Prof. Abdul Bari was a beggar-hearted person and described him as the pride of Shahabad. He added that Abdul Bari emerged as an important labour leader during the freedom movement in Bihar. He left his jo as a professor to actively participate in the freedom movement. He took part in the Quit India Movement of 1942 enthusiastically along with his labour union members.
On the martyrdom of this great leader, Mahatma Gandhi had said that a person of Abdul Bari’s personality never dies.
Dr. Amit Jaiswal said that while returning from Jamshedpur to Patna, he was assassinated in Khusrupur on March 28, 1947. Poet Jitendra Kumar said that his personality will continue to inspire struggling people for noble cause. Prof. Diwakar Pandey said that he was born in 1894 in Koelwar in Bhojpur district.
Shivdas Singh, Shashikant Tiwari, Janardan Mishra, Atul Prakash Srivastava, Harish Upadhyaya, Sarfaraz Ahamed, Nagendra Mishra and others also paid their tributes while Dr. Satyanarayan Upadhyaya extended vote of thanks.
