PREGNANT WOMAN DIED AFTER DELIVERY IN PRIVATE NURSING HOME OF BHOJPUR VILLAGE

Ara, 4 July 2023, (RNI): One woman died after delivery at a private nursing home at Narayanpur village under the same police station in Bhojpur district in the late evening on July 3, 2023. The deceased was identified as Umrawati Devi 26 wife of Mukesh Yadav of Chakia village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district. The family members held the doctor responsible for the death and blamed that the doctor did not refer her on time and at last claimed her life.

Pankaj Kumar, maternal uncle of the deceased said that Umrawati Devi was married a year ago and was pregnant and so she was living with her parentsat Dhobadi village under Narayanpur police station for the last some months. She had gone to her maternal uncle at Narayanpur village under the same police station in the evening on July 2, 2023 where she complained labour pain and so she was admitted to a private nursing home in the village where the doctor operated and a son was born. But soon after the delivery, the condition of the new born child deteriorated. The new borne child was admitted to the SNCU ward at the Ara Sadar Hospital at the advice of the doctor. Again the condition of the mother also deteriorated after the operation. The doctor examined and said that she is anemic but the doctor did not refer her. In the evening on July 3, 2023, her condition further deteriorated and she went into gasping condition. When the doctor found that the situation beyond their control, they referred her to the Ara Sadar Hospital but she breathed her last on way to the hospital.
