PREGNANT WOMAN BEAT UP TO DEATH AT ARA MERELY FOR A MOTORCYCLE

ARA--------------------------The in-laws beat to death a pregnant woman Roushani 24 at Bazaar Samiti area under Nawada police station merely for a bullet motorcycle. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The police also arrested the father-in-law and mother-in-law of the deceased though her husband is still at large. She survived by a nine month daughter Vaishavi. Her younger brother Neeraj Kumar performed her last rites.

Mahesh Kumar alias Tunni Babu father of the deceased said that her daughter Roushani Kumari was an intelligent student and always secured high percentage and she wanted to study more and also wished to become a school teacher but married her with Chandan Kumar alias Antu Kumar, a flour mill owner of Bazaar Samiti under Nawada police station in April 27, 2022 and gave a gold chain, two gold rings for the groom, AC, Freeze and other articles at the time of marriage but since the in-laws tortured her physically and mentally merely for a bullet motorcycle. Her mother-in-law and sister-in-law daily quarreled with her and her husband thrashed her mercilessly saying that he did not like her and also said that her father had not given anything in dowry. He said that several bruises were found in her body and also at her neck.

Her mother Anit Devi said that Roushani lived with her maternal uncle since her childhood and added that just as her daughter suffered pain, her in-laws should also feel the same pain. They should not be punished less than death penalty.
