ARA-------------------------With the increase in the number of police stations and police forces in Bhojpur district, people become hopeful about law and order, security and emergency services.
To instill a sense of security and develop credibility in police among the general masses, the Home Department, Government of Bihar approved Babura police station in the very sensitive area of Koelwar-Chhapara four lane of Bhojpur district but even after several months since its formal announcement, Babura police station has neither taken shape nor any work has so far been started in this regard. Reportedly, two Sub-Inspectors, two ASIs, two Hawaldar, 10 constables and a driver constable have been posted on the newly created police station but the police station itself is helpless without any building.
There is no one to understand and solve the traffic jam on the four-lane route, huge increase in road accidents, students in schools buses getting stuck in traffic jams, distressed ambulance patients struggling for hours in the traffic jams. The ray of hope that arose among the people due to establishment of police station at Babura is fading.
Meanwhile, in the light of order No. 2349 dated February 23, 2024, Department of Home Affairs (Reserve Branch), Government of Bihar, approval has been given to upgrade the Babura police outpost to a full fledge police station. However, before this order, the Babura OP was only on paper. Check Post performed the duty of the OP before this order.
A proposal was sent to the government to the government to include all the villages of three panchayats of Badahara block, East Babura, West Babura and Vishnupur and two panchayats of Koelwar block, Rajapur and Mathurapur under Babura police station. This police station is to be kept under the control of Sub-Divisional Police Officer-II and police Inspector of Koelwar Zone.
As per the order of the Home Department until the area determination of the police station is decided, the investigation of cases, law and order, station diary and other work will be done by Babura police outpost and the work of FIR, charge sheet and CCTNS will be done by the Badahara police station and Koelwar police station as ever. It was also ordered that at present the police station will run in a rented house. Raj Kumar Yadav who had the privilege of being the first SHO of the Babura police station, said that the police station could not function without the building. The police station was to be inaugurated in the month of October this year but till now a building suitable for running a police station has not been determined on rent so far.
