POLICE DRIVER SHOT AT, INJURED

Ara, 8 March 2023, (RNI): Some unidentified armed miscreants shot at and injured driver of 112 number police jeet at Pahadi Depo at Gausganj under Ara town police station in the night on March 7, 2023 and escaped from the scene. The injured was identified as a retired army man Sanjay Prakash 40 son of Ram Darshan Prasad of Gausganj under Ara town police station. He is a driver and posted at Ara town police station. The injured was admitted to a private nursing home at Babu Bazaar under Ara town police station where his condition is stated to be stable. The police rushed to the spot and started investigating the matter. An FIR was lodged with the police under Ara town police station on the statement of Sanjay Prakash and the owner of the house.

Sanjay Prakash said that he had taken contract to fill the potholes with earth near Gausganj Pahadi Depo. When he was getting the potholes filled up in the evening on March 7, 2023, some people quarrel there. He went there to settle the quarrel when someone fired and bullets him and he was injured.  

Reportedly, Sanjay Prakash’s acquaintances shot at him. It was said that two youths who are suspected in firing on Sanjay Prakash are said to be sons of a Sub-Inspector posted in Bihar Police though no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
