POLICE CONSTABLE ARRESTED IN DRUNKEN STAGE IN BUXAR

Buxar, 5 June 2023, (RNI): Sleuth of Excise Department arrested a police constable in drunken stage from Chausa railway station under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur in Buxar district. The Excise Department lodged a named FIR against the constable. He was posted at Chenari police station in Rohtas district. The police brought his to the Buxar Sadar Hospital for medical examination where the doctor heavy quantity of alcohol in his body. The police produced him in the Buxar Civil Court and sent him to jail under judicial custody. The arrested police constable is identified as Awadhesh Rai son of Bihari Rai of Chunni village under Buxar Muffassil police station. He was absent from his duty without leave.

Inspector, Excise Department Dilip Singh said that he got information that Awadhesh Rai, a police constable was loitering at the Chausa railway platform in drunken stage and so he along with police reached there and arrested him.

It may be said here that the Bihar government banned sale purchase and use liquor since 2016. Despite its users and dealers increased many fold. Though the police took action but it failed to ban completely. And now the police personnel are being arrested using liquor.
