POLICE ARREST SEVEN LIQUOR SMUGGLERS, SEIZED IMFL WOTH ABOUT Rs. 3 LAKH FROM A TRAIN AT BUXAR

BUXAR-------------------------Buxar railway police seized 24 cartons of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth about Rs. 3 lakh from bogie number S-4 of Simanchal Express at the Buxar railway station under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur and also arrest seven liquor smugglers. A named FIR was lodged with the police under the New Excise Act and the police sent them to jail after interrogation. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Vikas Kumar son of Fakir Paswan under Neora police station in Patna, Akshay Kumar son of late Rajeshwar Rai of Mahindawa village under Maner police station in Patna, Amresh Kumar son of Dhaneshwar Rai of Araniya village under Jandaha police station in Vaishali district, Tunna Kumar son of Umesh Yadav of Ravi Tola under Ara town police station, Vishwakarma Kumar son of Bechan Prasad of Zamira village under Ara Muffassil police station, Pappu Kumar son of late Ramashankar Singh of Mahatwania village under Udwantnagar police station and Abhishek Kumar son of Vijyendra Yadav of Ibrahim Nagar under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district.

SHO Buxar GRP Vijyendra Kumar said that the rail, SP, Danapur got information that IMFL in large quantity was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh to Bihar in the Simanchal Express. A recce was done and on the basis of recce, the rail SP formed a police team under the rail DSP, Danapur, Prashant Kumar and ordered to conduct raid. At this direction, the police team reached the Buxar railway station in the late evening and informed Danapur rail headquarter to stop the Simanchal Express at the Buxar railway station. As the Simanchal Express stopped at the Buxar railway station, the police team conducted intensive raid and arrested seven persons on suspicion from the bogie number S-4 of the train who were sitting at the gate of lavatory. When the police interrogated them, they admitted that they were liquor smugglers and the police seized 24 cartons of IMFL worth about Rs. 3 lakh from them.
