POLICE ARREST A YOUTH JUST BEFORE HIS MARRIAGE

ARA-------------------------Buxar police with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart arrested a youth from Amrai Nawada village under Bihia police station just before his marriage could be solemnized. The arrested youth was identified as Sandeep Kumar Mahato.

SHO Bihia police station Rajesh Malakar said that a girl of a village under Siamri police station in Buxar district lodged a named FIR with the police under Simari police station against Sandeep Kumar Mahato on March 15, 2024 blaming that he had sexually harassed with a promise to marry her. She said in the FIR that her marriage was fixed with Sandeep Kumar Mahato in the year 2018 and engagement ceremony was also solemnized but marriage could not be solemnized as the girl was underage at that time and so it was decided that their marriage would be solemnized after the girl would be above 18 years of age. But they were in contact and Sandeep Kumar Mahato decoyed and sexually harassed her several times saying that their marriage is fixed. Meanwhile the girl knew that Sandeep Kumar Mahato was to be married with another girl. She complained the police and the Buxar police with the help of their Bhojpur counterpart raided that Amrai Nawada village under Bihia police station just before the marriage though his tilak and turmeric ceremony done.
