POLICE ARE INTERROGATING TWO MISCREANTS IN TANISHQ SHOWROOM ROBBERY CASE

ARA--------------------------The police arrested one of the main accused in the Tanishq Showroom robbery case from Purnia. The arrested miscreant is identified as Rocky of Banka district. Police are bringing him to Ara. He was present in the Showroom during the robbery. The CCTV footage showed that he had a pistol in his hand and was scuffling with the guard and had snatched his rifle. The police have already arrested 15 miscreants in connection with robbery of about Rs. 10 crore of jewelleries of gold, silver and diamond in the Tanishq Showroom near Gopali Chowk under Ara town police station on March 10, 2025 while one miscreant Chunmun Jha was killed in police encounter in Araria. Four or more miscreants including Rocky were absconding in this regard and the police are conducting raids to arrest them. Meanwhile the police arrested Rocky from Purnia.

The police took Sheru Singh of Buxar and Chandan alias Prince of Vaishali languishing in the Purulia jail in West Bengal on two day remand and started interrogating them. Reportedly the police also got permission of two remand of six miscreants languishing in the Ara jail merely for cross verification and the police will take them on remand on April 7, 2025. The names of Sheru Singh and Chandan alias Prince had come to light during interrogating the arrested miscreants and the police brought them to Ara from Purulia on production warrant issued by the Ara court. They had hatched plan from behind the bar for the robbery in the showroom. Besides, the Ara, Patna police, STF DSP, Patna and Ara DIU are interrogating Sheru Singh and Chandan alias Prince in tight security coverage on the campus of the Ara town police station. The Patna police are interrogating them in connection with robbery of jewelleries worth about Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 27000 in cash in Jeeva Jewellery shop at Saguna Mor under Danapur police station in Panta on January 31, 2025. The police had arrested some miscreants including two women and had recovered jewelleries worth about Rs. 14 lakh from them. The names of Sheru Singh and Chandan alias Prince had also figured in that robbery.

It may be mentioned here that some armed miscreants had committed robbery in the Tanishq Showroom in a broad day light on March 10, 2025 and had decamped with the booty worth about Rs. 10 crore though the police arrested two miscreants with pistol, live cartridges, looted rifle and two bags of looted jewelleries within two hours of the incident and later arrested 13 more miscreants in this regard.
