POETRY CONFERENCE OF THE PROGRESSIVE WRITERS ASSOCIATION HELD, NEW COMMITTEE ORGANIZED

A one day District cum Poetry seminar of the Progressive Writers Association, Bhojpur chapter was organized in the auditorium of the Hindi Department of the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU) under the joint presidentship of Ravindra Nath Rai, general secretary, Bihar Progressive Writers Association, Prof. Neeraj Singh, State President, Janwadi Sanskriti Manch, Jitendra Kumar and Head of the Department, Post Graduate, Hindi department, VKSU, Prof. Mrityunjay Kumar Singh. Ram Tawakya Singh, Prof. Baliraj Thakur, President, Bhojpur Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Prof. Diwakar Pandey, HOD of the Bhojpuri, VKSU were the chief guests. The programme started with a poetry symposium where at least 30 poets kept the audience spellbound by reciting their poetry. Janardan Mishra conducted the meeting while Navneet Rai extended vote of thanks.

The auudience was on their feet when Prof.Neeraj Singh recited his poems saying that the ‘Jan Gan Man Adhinayak is a lie, Bharat Bhagya Vidhata is a lie, Bharat Mata is mother of all’ and Ram Tawakya Singh presented a song “Hamaraa ke logwa kahela gadiwan ho” Mrityunjay Kumar Singh presented ‘Nothing is Eternal here, neither me nor God nor you’. Prof. Diwakar Pandey while presenting a satire in today’s perspective and enthralled the audience by presenting the poem ‘Kah Do Vande Matram’ while Ayodhya Prasad Upadhayaya gave a glimpse of independent India and Dr. Sheel Bhadra prepared another path for ‘Tu Hai Dariya’ Mamada Deep wrote ‘Our love is old in modern times’.

Siddharth Vallabh snatched away the darkness from the nights and in a cheeky manner Prof.Nilmbuj made the audience laugh with his poems. Reflecting the pains of the middle class, Rakesh Ojha recited the poem ‘Main Bhuk Hoon’ and Rupendra Mishra recited the poem “Main Middle Class Hoon Saheb’. Madhulika Sinha spoke on a topic “We are teachers, we will change the picture through education and Dr.Jitendra Shukla recited the poem ‘Kahan Rah Gaya Mere Desh ka Vikas.’

Janardan Mishra, referring the love month of February, presented a poem, “This is my rose in your name, dear” Rabindra Nath Roy wrote ‘Yamdoot is looking for me’ Jitendra Kumar wrote ‘He is coming’ Santosh Shreyansh wrote ‘Those who have not known me by my name; Shiv Das Singh wrote Bhojpuri song and Jagat Nandan Sahay recited the poem dedicated to the farmers ‘Every drop coming out of my blood’.

Dr. Renu Mishra felt that spring is about to come. Suman Kumar, everyone waited for spring. Siddharth Sagar ‘daughters are embodying Siddharth to Buddha. Arvind Jee said that how Gandhi is roaming about with three monkeys with him, Krishna Kumar said as to what is the difference between sons and daughters, Akela said “give pension to all’ Saurabh Kumar presented a poem attacking on corruption “Liquor is banned outside, business is going on inside and Nikita recited a poem ‘Vasundhara’ depicting the beauty of nature. The auditorium echoed with applause.

On the occasion, Progressive Writers Association formed a new committee giving newness to its district unit. While proposing the name, Ravindra Nath Rai, General Secretary, Bihar Progressive Writers Association put forward the name of Janardan Mishra as the new president, Ravindra Nath Rai as Executive President, Om Prakash Mishra as Vice-President, Navneet Rai as Secretary, Dr. Suman Kumari as joint secretary while Mrityunjay Kumar Singh, Ayodhyaya Prasad Upadhayaya, Santosh Shreyansh, Madhulika Sinha, Dr. Jitendra Shukla, Rakesh Ojha, Rupendra Mishra, Ashish Upadhayaya, Mamtadeep and Jeevan Kumar are made executive members.

Krishna Kumar Krishnendu said that this is the land of Ara where literature will always be alive. Dr. Padma Ojha said that litterateurs keep a close watch on every system of the country. The literary world has always shown the true mirror to the governments without any hesitation and without fear. System change is possible only through these.
