PO AND ASSISTANT ENGINEER, MNREGA DISMISSED

Bhabhua, 8 May 2023, (RNI): Kaimur District Magistrate Sawan Kumar dismissed the PO, MNREGA, Gaurav Kumar Gupta and the Assistant Engineer Sanjay Kumar from the service in connection with building of boundary illegally of a private pond. The DM also wrote to the Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) to take action against the Junior Engineer Raja Ram and the PRD Manoj Kumar. Gaurav Kumar Gupta is posted in Buxar while Sanjay Kumar is posted in Bhojpur. The Kaimur DM sent letters of their dismissal to the DMs, Bhojpur and Buxar districts.

A boundary was made around a private pond of Santosh Singh at Akhlaspur village of Bhabhua block in Kaimur district from the fund of MNREGA and the Himanshu Enterprises had supplied bricks, iron rods, cement, stone chips for the purpose but the department did not release its payment for long time for the supply of construction materials. Proprietor, Himanshu Enterprises Mukesh Kumar wrote to the department for the payment but no action was taken on it and so he knocked the door of the court. Meanwhile, the department formed an inquiry team to inquire into the construction of boundary around a private pond. The inquiry team found that the boundary was constructed around the private pond from MNREGA though the provisions of the MNREGA clearly mentioned that no construction work would be done on private pond. The inquiry team showed its disagreement with the payment for the construction around the private pond and held the Programme Officer, MNREGA Gaurav Kumar Gupta, Assistant Engineer, Sanjay Kumar, Junior Engineer, Rajaram and PRS Manoj Kumar guilty in this regard and recommended action against them. On the recommendation of inquiry team, show cause notices were served on them but their replied were not satisfactory. So a letter was sent to the Kaimur DM for action against the Programme Offcer Gaurav Kumar Gupta and the Assistant Engineer Sanjay Kumar. The DM took it seriously and dismissed the Programme Officer Gaurav Kumar Gupta and the Assistant Engineer Sanjay Kumar from their services.

It may be mentioned here that the MNREGA had no fund for the construction of boundary of a private pond while the Programme Officer Gaurav Kumar Gupta, Assistant Engineer Sanjay Kumar, Junior Engineer Rajaram and the PRS Manoj Kumar of MNREGA. The DM dismissed the Programme Officer Gaurav Kumar Gupta and the Assistant Engineer Sanjay Kumar from their services while authorized the DDC to take action against the Junior Engineer Rajaram and the PRS Manoj Kumar in this regard.
