PEOPLE’S REPRESENTATIVE BUILDING ON THE CAMPUS OF THE ARA SADAR HOSPITAL TURNS INTO DOCTORS OFFICE

ARA-----------------------A separate ward was constructed on the campus of the Ara Sadar Hospital by the former Legislative Councilor Hulas Pandey, elected from Ara-Buxar Panchayat Rak Body elections for the convenient treatment of public representatives but now it encroached upon not other than doctors and Ara Sadar Hospital management that has changed its form. Due to this, the public representatives are facing difficulty in getting treatment on the one hand while on the other, the hospital management is suffering revenue loss.

Rs. 100 per bed per day was fixed as the fee for the MPs, former MPs, MLAs, former MLAs, ministers, former ministers and elected representatives under the Panhayati Raj system who are admitted for treatment so that the facilities to the public representatives can be provided and the hospital management can get the benefit of revenue but all these are in vain.

Not to speak of people’s representative, the people’s representative building is not available to the general people for treatment. The people’s representative building is two storeyed with two rooms on each floor. Doctors have reserved or encroached two rooms on each floor while the hospital management encroached one room on first floor for itself. Only one room is left for the patients undergoing treatment and three beds have been installed in it.

Though no people representative come to the People Representative Building for treatment, however, common people are given beds in it and that too on the basis of setting-getting. All beds are filled every day but the hospital earns little as revenue.

The Ara Sadar Hospital management should get Rs. 9000 as revenue per month from three beds in one room at the rate of Rs. 300 per day but it does not happen and thus causing a lot of damage to the hospital management. Despite this, no action is being takne by the Ara Sadar Hospital management. More and more Revenue loss incurred to the Ara Sadar Hospital per month as the doctors and even the hospital management has encroached upon the three rooms of the People’s Representative Building. With three beds in three rooms, the hospital management is supposed to earn revenue of Rs. 900 per day whereas due to dictatorship of these people, the revenue is not being received. This is a matter of great concern. The hospital management is not taking action on this for years and so it creates very suspicious situation.

Civil Surgeon, Ara Sadar Hospital, Dr. Suresh Prasad Singh said that the People’s Representative Building was constructed long before he assumed the office of the CS and the matter was not in his cognizance. He added that the matter will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken on it.
