PARCEL BOOKING FACILITY IS TO BE STARTED AT THE ARA JUNCTION

ARA-------------------------Parcel booking facility will soon be available at the Ara Junction under Danapur rail division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur once again after 12 years. Railway has started preparations for this. It will be started after the extension of Rajendra Nagar Terminal Howrah Express train till Ara. Earlier, during the times of Janata and Lal Quila Express trains, there was facility of parcel booking from Ara. After the closure of these trains, parcel booking was stopped from Ara. As a result, the businessmen here had to go to Danapur and Patna to book their parcels.

In order to attract the traders of Ara towards transportation of goods from outside, it has been decided to rejuvenate the parcel houses and goods warehouses at Ara railway station and for this, the Railway Board has identified parcel house and goods warehouse at Ara Junction. New buildings will also be constructed as per requirement. For the convenience of railway workers, traders and workers, offices and warehouses will be made ultramodern. Arrangements for separate waiting rooms, drinking water, toilet facilities, electricity and roads for commuting will also be made. Traders will be motivated to transport goods through railways.

Ara town is famous from the point of view of trade industry, pilgrimage and education along with others. Goods from different towns, cities and states, especially agriculture based goods, often come here by rail route. For example, flowers from Kolkata, betel leaves, tea leaves from Assam, fruits and vegetables, apples from Chandigarh, onions from Nasik, grapes, dry fruits from Delhi etc. are brought here by rail at Danapur. The parcel warehouse from Ara railway station was removed about 12 years ago. When parcel Ghar was here, fruits, vegetables, flowers etc. were transported here by Janata and Lal Quila Express trains along with Toofan Express used to come. Parcel Yards were also attacked to the vehicles. Now by starting parcel booking from Ara, businessmen will save both time and money.

Senior Commercial Manager, Danapur Railway Division, Saraswati Chandra said that efforts are being made to open a parcel goods warehouse at Ara Junction. Approval will also be taken from the Railway Ministry to make a five-minute halt for long distance trains.
