PANDALS ARE BEING SET UP ON THE EDGE OF THE TOWN, NO ACTION IS BEING TAKEN

ARA (RNI) Pandals are set up at the flanks of roads in Bhojpur district with impunity without the permission of the Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) right under its nose and the officials of the AMC are not taking any action against the recalcitrant persons. The matter becomes all the more grave when custodians of laws themselves violate the rules.
During the election of the Ara Bar Association, more than a dozen pandals are set up in front of the main gate of the Ara Civil Court just 100 meter away from the AMC office but the AMC turned a blind eye and did not take any action. Due to this, the passers-by and even the officials of the AMC had to face a lot of problems in commuting the road due to the pandals setup at either side of the road.
The identified streets of the town are auctioned by the AMC due to which the AMC earns a good amount of revenue. Also for temporary work, permission has to be taken from the AMC for setting up a pandal or for any other such work. Only after that the paldals can be set up and for this, a prescribed amount has to be deposited and such work can be done only after taking of receipts whereas at the time of the Ara Bar Association elections, no such application is given to the AMC and permission is also not taken.
The question of depositing the prescribed fee is far away. However, no action is taken even by the AMC on doing such work. While the pandals are kept on the roadside for two to three days continuously, there is disruption in traffic. The AMC employees and officers are not deprived of trouble in commuting the road. This not only causes problems to the people but also results in loss of revenue to the AMC.
Municipal Commissioner, AMC, Niroj Kumar Bhagat said that this is absolutely wrong. Pandals or anything should not be setup on the roadside. If the intellectual class does this, it is then even more wrong. The pandals will be removed and action will be taken against it.
