PANCHAYT SAMITI MEMBER SHOT DEAD

Ara, 30 April 2023, (RNI): Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead Panchayat Samiti member at Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station in the late night. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Deepak Gupta son of Nand Kishore Gupta alias Dhodhar Gupta of Belaur village. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.

SHO Udwantnagar police station said that Deepak Gupta was Panchayat Samiti member and had won the election for the first time and he had a sweetmeat shop in the village also. He had gone to Naua Tola of Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station to take part in a ritual where five persons were sitting with him. After some time, one of them called Deepak at some distance and shot him dead and all the five escaped from the scene.
