PANCHAYAT MEMBER KILLED, BODY EXHUMED

Villagers exhumed body of a middle aged person from the bank of a canal at Bhushula village under Ara Muffassil police station and handed over the body to police.

Ara, 14 March 2023, (RNI): Villagers exhumed body of a middle aged person from the bank of a canal at Bhushula village under Ara Muffassil police station and handed over the body to police. Later the police brought the body to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Ara Muffassil police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. The deceased was identified as Brijbhan Sah 52 son of late Sakaldeep Sah of Bhushula village. He was member of Gothhula panchayat Ward No 2. 

SHO Ara Muffassil police station said that Brijbhan Sah was going to his relative at about 10pm on March 12, 2023 to attend a marriage ceremony but he disappeared from near the school of the school under mysterious circumstances. When he did not reach home till midnight, the family members along with villagers searched for him. on March 13, 2023, the villagers got his chappals and blood stain in a school. They followed the blood fell on the way and reached a field where some standing crops of wheat were destroyed. It seemed that he was dragged through the wheat field and they reached on the bank of canal where earth was dug. They removed soil and exhumed the body.

Brijnhan Sah had two marriage and he lived with his first wife in separate house. Brother of Shila Devi, first wife of the deceased said that with the first marriage with Shila Devi, Brijbhan Sah had four daughters, Rinki, Pinki, Santoshi and Savita and one son Bijay Kumar while with his second wife Devanti Devi he had two sons Dheeraj Kumar and Suraj Kumar. Brijbhan Sah had partitioned all his lands between two wives except three bighas of land which had with him. The village panchayat had decided that the land would be used in the marriage of daughters which was bone of contention and sons of Devanti frequently embroiled into quarrel and thrash Brijbhan Sah. They had sold out some portion of land without informing Brijbhan Sah and when he came know about the illegal sale of land, he appealed to cancel the registration of the land. It was blamed that Dheeraj Kumar and Suraj Kumar were looking for a chance and at last with the help of some persons, they killed him and buried the body on the bank of canal to erase evidence.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the matter had come to his cognizance and the body was recovered. Stern action would be taken against the guilty after interrogation.
