ARA-------------------------Only 41 Panchayat government buildings have so far been constructed in Bhojpur district due to slackness of the officials of the concerned department whereas there are 226 Panchayats in the entire district causing a lot of problems to the people.

The Government has decided to construct Panchayat government buildings in each and every Panchayat of the State equipped with technology so that the villagers should get various facilities in their Panchayat government buildings. Bhojpur district has 226 Panchayat but only Panchayat government buildings were constructed only in 41 Panchayats of the district so far due to indifference, insensitivity and slackness of the officials of the concerned department though the officials made excuses for it. Due to non-construction of the Panchayat Government buildings, people are destined to visit the block and zonal offices again and again for their work as they are unable to get the facilities provided by the government in the Panchayat government buildings.

In those Panchayats where Panchayat Government Buildings have been constructed, other facilities have not been provided and thus the Panchayat Government Buildings have become pieces of show.

The government has directed to provide hi-tech facilities in the Panchayat Government Buildings. Under this scheme, computers and other types of equipment are to be installed in the Panchayat Government Buildings and executive assistants are to be to posted so that the farmers can get information about agriculture and other rural schemes to avail the benefits of those schemes, can fill forms from Panchayat Government Buildings. Even the RTPS counters were to be opened in these Panchayat Government Buildings to facilitate the beneficiaries to get the benefits of the schemes in their accounts but till now the facility has not been provided except in Dawa Panchayat of Jagdishpur and Zamira Panchayat Government Building.

The Government has also instructed the BDOs and the COs to come to the Panchayat Government Buildings once a week to give information about government schemes and to solve various problems of the people but till date the BDOs and COs do not come to any Panchayat Government Building even for a day and the villagers are forced to go to the blocks to solve the problems of the Panchayats.

There are a total of 226 Panchayats in Bhojpur district and so 226 Panchayat Government Buildings have to be constructed but till only 41 Panchayat Government Buildings in 41 Panchayats have so far been constructed and were transferred to the village Heads. The land at Khutaha Panchayat was found unfit whereas the Village Head in Sanadiya Panchayat of Ara Muffassil has not approved the Panchayat Government Building.

The Panchayat Government Buildings were constructed at Semaria, Matukpur, Khawspur, Sinha, Kirkiri, Ratnadh, Bagwa, Badaura, Zamira, Sanadiya, Dhamar, Jalpura, Sakaddi, Birampur, Malaur, Pasaur, Baligao, Karisath, Akhagaon, Kori, Belaur, Ranisagar, Kamariyaaw, Jhauwa, Belwaniya, Moap Kala, Shankardih, Sikarhatta, Harigao, Dawa, Dalippur, Agaiw Bazaar, Narayanpur, Kothuwa, Baraw, Khadaw, Ekwari, Dumaria, Belauti, Khutaha panchayats of Bhojpur district.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Manoj Kumar Jha said that the work of identifying the land for the Panchayat Government Buildings is being done in the Panchats. Land has been identified in many Panchayats and its proposal will be sent to the government. After sanction of funds for the purpose, the construction work of the Panhayat Government Buildings will be started.
