-A speeding Pick-Up van knocked down three teenage girls near Panchabharwa Bridge at Varuna village under Narayanpur police station on Ara-Arwal main road in Bhojpur district when they were returning home from their coaching centre in which one girl was killed on spot while two others were injured. The driver fled away from the scene after the incident leaving the vehicle behind.

ARA----------------------A speeding Pick-Up van knocked down three teenage girls near Panchabharwa Bridge at Varuna village under Narayanpur police station on Ara-Arwal main road in Bhojpur district when they were returning home from their coaching centre in which one girl was killed on spot while two others were injured. The driver fled away from the scene after the incident leaving the vehicle behind. Police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured there. The deceased was identified as an intermediate student, Shruti Kumari 16 daughter of Harendra Kumar of Varuna Ward No 14 under Narayanpur police station while the injured were identified as Sita Kumari 16 daughter of Ramesh Kumar and cousin sister of the deceased and Anjali Kumari 14 daughter of Lal Babu Singh. After the incident, the villagers became agitated and blocked the Ara-Arwal main road near Pachbharwa Bridge at Varuna village with the body of the deceased and paralyzed movement of vehicles for about seven hours. They burnt tyres on the road and raised slogans against the district administration. They were demanding arrest of the driver at once and compensation for the family members of the deceased. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the Circle Officer. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Ramesh Kumar, uncle of the deceased said that all the three girls, Shruti Kumari, Sita Kumari and Anjali Kumari had gone to Inrukhi village under Sahar police station for computer learning as ever. When they were returning home from the computer centre on foot, a speeding Pick-Up van from opposite direction knocked them down near Pachbharwa Bridge at Varuna village under Narayanpur police station on Ara-Arwal main road in Bhojpur district in which his niece Shruti Kumari was killed on spot while his daughter Sita Kumari and a friend of the deceased Anjali Kumari were badly injured.
