NINE PERSONS INCLUDING TWO WOMEN KILLED IN KAIMUR DISTRICT
At least nine persons including a Bhojpuri singer were killed near Devkali village on NH-2 under Mohania police station in Kaimur district in the late evening on February 25, 2024 when a speeding Scorpio dashed a motorcycle and later collided with a container.
BHABHUA (RNI) At least nine persons including a Bhojpuri singer were killed near Devkali village on NH-2 under Mohania police station in Kaimur district in the late evening on February 25, 2024 when a speeding Scorpio dashed a motorcycle and later collided with a container. The deceased were identified as Prakash Rai son of Subhash Rai, owner of the Scorpio and resident of Kamharia village in Buxar district, Bhojpuri singer Chhotu Pandey, Satya Prakash Mishra of Chilhad village under Itadhi police station in Buxar district, Anchal Tiwari and Simran Srivastava, artists of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and a motorcycle rider Dadhibal Singh of Devkali village under Mohania police station in Kaimur district of Bihar though three persons could not be identified till filling of this report.
Kaimur DM Sawan Kumar and SP Lalit Mohan Sharma said that some persons including two women were going to Varanasi from Mohania via Durgawati in Kaimur district in Bihar in a Scorpio in the late evening on February 25, 2024 to participate in a programme there. Near Devkali village on NH-2 under Mohania police station in Kaimur district, the Scorpio dashed a motorcycle when the rider was trying to cross the road and later the driver lost control on steering and the Scorpio collided with a container head-on in which all the eight persons including two women artists were killed on spot and the motorcycle rider was also killed and some other were injured. The locals admitted the injured to a nearby hospital and informed the police. On information, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies and brought them to the Bhabhua Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The police are investigating the matter.
