NEWLYWED WOMAN POISONED TO DEATH
One newlywed woman was poisoned to death at Lakadi village under Kochas police station in Rohtas district merely for dowry.
ARA (RNI) One newlywed woman was poisoned to death at Lakadi village under Kochas police station in Rohtas district merely for dowry. The deceased was identified as Ratna Devi 25 wife of Om Prakash Chauhan of Lakadi village. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Mother of the deceased said that Ratna Devi was married to Om Prakash Chauhan in the year 2021 and since the marriage, her in-laws always tortured her physically and mentally for dowry and when their demand was fulfilled, they poisoned her to death.
The SHO Kochas police station Amod Kumar said that on information, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and also brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. He further said that the exact reason of death would be ascertained after the postmortem report is received.
