NEWLYWED WOMAN KILLED 25 DAYS AFTER THE MARRIAGE, BODY BURIED IN A VILLAGE IN KAIMUR DISTRICT

The in-laws killed a newlywed woman at Akbarpur village under Rajpur police station in Buxar district and buried the body near Awati Mathahi Birdge at Sotawa Dera village in Kaimur district to hide the corpse.

Buxar, 6 July 2023, (RNI): The in-laws killed a newlywed woman at Akbarpur village under Rajpur police station in Buxar district and buried the body near Awati Mathahi Birdge at Sotawa Dera village in Kaimur district to hide the corpse. The deceased was identified as Indu Kumari wife of Deepak Chauhan. On information the police exhumed the body and brought it to the Buxar Sadar Hospital for postmortem. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Rajpur police station in this regard against the husband Deepak Chauhan, father-in-law Jokhu Chauhan, mother-in-law Lalita Devi, sister-in-law Poonak Kumari on the statement of father of the deceased. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the named accused. Police Mantu Chauhan son of Ramakant Chauhan so far.

Quoting the FIR, the SHO Rajpur police station said that Rameshwar Chaudhary of Shekhpurawa village under Nokha police station in Rohtas district married his daughter Indu Devi with Deepak Chauhan of Akabarpur village under Rajpur police station in Buxar district on June 11, 2023 and fulfilled all the desires and wishes of Deepak Chahan’s father Jokhu Chauhan before the marriage. Since, she was tortured physically and mentally. When Rameshwar Chaudhary went to see his daughter after a week of marriage, Indu Devi told him that her in-laws were demanding a gold chain, one Apache motorcycle and Rs. 2 lakh in cash. On July 4, 2023, Indu Devi called her mother and told her all about the demands but the in-laws killed her the same night. They packed the body and buried it near Awati Mathahi Bridge at Sotawa Dera under Nuwaw police station in Kaimur district to hide the corpse. On the complain of the father of the deceased, the SHO Rajpur police station Rajesh Malakar along with police force exhumed the body and brought it to the Buxar Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

The villagers said that it was quite deserted around the house of Jokhu Chauhan since morning and all family members had fled away. Sensing some untoward incident, the villagers informed the girl’s father. On information, the girl’s father Rameshwar Chaudhary along with dozens of villagers including Block Pramikh Dhananjay Kumar Singh and Mukhia Kadma Panchayat Rakesh Kumar arrived at Rajpur police station and informed about the incident. The police arrested Mantu Chauhan son of Ramakant Chauhan who revealed that the in-laws killed Indu Devi and buried her body near Awati Mathahi Bridge in Kaimur district. On his revelation, the police exhumed the body from there.
