NEWLY WED WOMAN KILLED FOR DOWRY AT ROHTAS VILLAGE

SASARAM-----------------------Rohtas police recovered body of newly wed woman from the courtyard of her house at Kabayi village under Suryapura police station in Rohtas district and brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Sushila Devi wife of Krishna Kumar of Kabayi village of Shivobahar panchayat under Suryapura police station in Rohtas district. A named FIR has been lodged with the police under Suryapura police station against the husband Krishna Kumar, brother-in-law Golu Kumar, father-in-law Gorakh Singh and the mother-in-law on the statement of brother of the deceased Arbind Kumar of Kisundasdih village under Karakat police station. After institution of the FIR, police swung into action and investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the named accused.

Quoting the FIR, the SHO Suryapura police station Priya Kumari said that Sushila Devi was married to Krishna Kumar son of Gorakh Singh of Kabayi village under Suryapura police station in Rohtas district on May 29, 2023. Some days after the marriage, the in-laws started demanding cattle and a motorcycle as dowry though they were admonished several times. And when their demands were not fulfilled, they strangulated her to death and fled away from the scene leaving the dead body in the courtyard of the house behind. The police found a mark on her neck. The SHO said that the exact reason of the death would be ascertained after the postmortem report.
