NEWLY MARRIED WOMAN STRANGULATED TO DEATH FOR A CAR, HUSBAND AND MOTHER-IN-LAW ARRESTED

ARA (RNI) Newly married woman was strangulated to death at Kasap village under Udwantnagar police station in the morning merely for a car in dowry. The deceased was identified as Sarita Kumari 21 wife of Manish Singh of Kasap Ward No 6 village under Udwantnagar police station. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also arrested the husband and the mother-in-law of the deceased and sent them to jail after interrogation.
Brother of the deceased Manoj Kumar son of Shiv Shankar Singh of Bichhiawa village under Sandesh police station said that Sarita Kumari was married to Manish Singh son of Ramesh Singh of Kasap village Ward No 6 under Udwantnagar police station on May 14 last year. Four months after the marriage, the in-laws demanded a car but the deceased parents showed their helplessness in fulfilling their demand. When the demand was not fulfilled the in-laws tortured her physically and mentally and so she had run away from her in-laws’ house twice and had come to her parents’ home at Bichhiyaon.
Her farther-in-law came to her maternal home and after a panchayat, brought her back to her in-laws’ house. Meanwhile, a local villager called Manish Singh on his mobile and informed that his sister is no more. After getting the information, he reached his sister’s in-laws’ hose and saw that she was lying dead in the verandah and all the family members had fled away.
