NDRF PERSONNEL KILLED, HIS FAMILY MEMBERS INJURED

Ara, 29 June 2023, (RNI): One NDRF personnel was killed when his car rammed into a truck parked on roadside from behind while some others injured near the Koelwar police station on Ara-Patna main road. The deceased was identified as Nand Kumar Singh 42 son of a retired SI Shankar Singh of Majhaua village under Ara town police station in Bhojpur district. The injured were identified as Mahima Kumari wife of the deceased, her daughter Shrinjal Singh alias Kisu 16 and son Naman Singh alias Jai 10. The injured were admitted to a private nursing home in Patna.

SHO Koelwar police station said that Nand Kumar Singh was posted at NDRF Battalion IX at Bihata in Patna district. He along with his wife, daughter and son was coming to his native village at Majhaua under Ara town police station in a car. He himself was driving the car. When he reached near Koelwar police station on Ara-Patna main road, his car rammed into a sand laden truck parked on the road due to traffic jam from behind killing Nand Kumar Singh on spot and injuring his wife, daughter and son. The locals admitted the injured to the Koelwar Primary Health Centre but the doctors referred them to the ESIC but whence the doctors admitted them to a private nursing home in Patna in precarious condition.

Officials of the NDRF Battalion No 9 at Bihata said that the deceased Nand Kumar Singh was transferred to Kolkata and so a farewell party was organized at the Bihata headquarter. He lived in Danapur in a rented house for the study of his children. He had go to Kolkata to join the duty there and so he was going to meet his parents at Majhaua.
