MURDER ACCUSED WITH FIREARMS ARRESTED

Ara, 6 January 2022, (RNI): Bhojpur police arrested a miscreant from diara area under Badahara police station in Bhojpur district and also seized firearms and live cartridges from him in connection with murder of his daughter-in-law (bahu). The arrested miscreant was identified as Ram Prasad Rai son of late Ramayan Rai of Shaligram ka Tola village under Badahara police station. The police seized a rifle and 34 life cartridges from his possession.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Rai said that the police had recovered body of a woman from near the river Ganga at Shaligram Singh ka Tola on April 3, 2020 and the police were searching for her father-in-law (sasur), Ram Prasad Rai in this regard. A police team was also formed under the ASP Himanshu and the police following mobile surveillance and technical research, arrested Ram Prasad Rai from the diara area near Shaligram Singh ka Tola and recovered a rifle and 34 live cartridges from his possession. Later the police sent him to jail after interrogation.

The SP further said that two murder cases were pending against Ram Prasad Rai with the police under Koelwar police station. At least three murder cases were filed against him and now a new FIR has been lodged against him under the Arms Act.
