MOTHER OF THREE CHILDREN STRANGULATED TO DEATH

ARA-----------------------Due to money dispute, husband thrashed his wife and also strangulated her to death at Satiyara Tola of Karwasin village under Azimabad police station in Bhojpur district. Later he performed her last rites on the bank of the river Sone merely to erase evidence. The deceased was identified as Savitri Kumari 25 wife of Genu Kumar of Satiyara Tola of Karwasin village. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Azimabad police station against four persons including the husband on the statement of the brother of the deceased Direndra Bind of Dulhinganj village in Patna district. Later the police arrested the husband and also collected bones from the pyre. The husband confessed that he had killed his wife.

SHO Azimabad police station Niwas Kumar said that Savitri Kumari was married with Genu Kumar of Satiyara Tola of Karwasin village under Azimabad police station in the year 2019 and she had two sons and a daughter with the marriage. He said that Genu Kumar, due to a dispute for money, thrashed his wife and also strangulated her to death. Later he burnt the body on the bank of the river Sone merely to erase evidence. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Azimabad police station against four persons including the husband on the statement of the brother of the deceased. The police immediately swung into action and arrested the husband of the deceased who confessed during interrogation that he had killed his wife over money dispute and burnt the body to erase evidence. Genu Kumar also told that police that he worked in private company outside Bhojpur district and lived with his wife. He gave all his salary to his wife. He also said that marriage negotiation of his sister was going on and the family members demanded money from him for the purpose and when he asked for money, his wife started quarreling with him that infuriated him and he thrashed and strangulated his wife and also burnt her body. The police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the rest named accused in this regard. The SHO further said that a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has been requisitioned and the FSL team collected bones of the deceased from the pyre for DNA test.
