All the candidates have given their full strength to woo the voters and are canvassing door to door to motivate the voter in their favour. The round the corner survey showed that Awadhesh Narayan Singh has an edge over his contesting rivals and likely to come out with flying colour in the election this time too.
Awadhesh Kumar Singh was borne on June22,1948 and completed his schooling from High School, Syrapura and got himself admitted in the I.Sc. in the B N College, Patna. After completion of Intermediate, He qualified engineering entrance test and completed engineering from the BIT, Sindari in the year 1972 and joined service as the District Industry Officer (DIO) in Ranchi in Jharkhand. When asked as to why he preferred to join politics, he said that he was transferred within six months of joining of service and so he approached the then MLC, Basant Kumar Rai. He was merry making in his room and so he seated him outside. When it became too late, he entered the room, the MLC scolded and tore away his application that hurt him a lot and immediately he decided to resign from the service and challenged Basant Kumar Rai to contest MLC election against him. He stated that he contested the MLC election from Gaya Graduate Constituency against the sitting MLC successfully in the year 1993 and since he is still MLC. He said he contested the MLC election first time in the year 1993 and then in 1999 from Ranchi in undivided Bihar and after partition, he successfully contested election in the year 2005, 2011 and 2017 in a row and now it is his sixth contest for MLC and hoped that he would come out with flying colour this time too. He was elected Chairman for the Bihar Legislative Council in the year 2012 and continued on the post upto now. The Government of India had sent him to the US in the year 2011-2012 as member of JP Vichar Manch under the presidentship of Yashwant Sinha. He was also chairman of Ashiyana in the year 1984. Talking to this correspondent, Awadhesh Narayan Singh said that after resignation from the service, once he repented as the financial condition of the family was not strong though everyone had encouraged him especially his wife who said that not to think of joining the service again and she was ready to face all the hardships to come that motivated and gave encouragement to him a lot and that motivation and encouragement took him to this position.
People are in the view that Awadhesh Narayan Singh is sweet nature, amicable and easy to access. He frequently visited all the eight district under his constituency and is always ready to redress grievances of people as far as possible. And it is the reason people cutting cross party line, irrespective of caste, creed, race religion, are willing to vote for him and he would be on driver seat.
