MISCREANTS SHOT DEAD FATHER AND SON WHILE HARVESTING CROPS IN BHOJPUR VILLAGE

ARA (RNI) some armed miscreants shot dead father and son at Raghunipur village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district in the morning when they were harvesting in a field in the village and escaped from the scene. The deceased were identified as Ramadhar Singh and his son Mukesh Singh 30 of Raghunipur village. Police recovered the bodies and brought them to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Old land dispute is said to be the cause behind the incident. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station in this regard and the police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that some armed miscreants came at a wheat field at Raghunipur village under Udwantnagar police station in the morning today pumped bullets into the bodies of Ramadhar Singh 65 son of late Bali Singh and his son Mukesh Singh of the village when they were harvesting the crops in the field and escaped from the scene. Ramadhar Singh died on spot while his son Mukesh Singh succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Ara Sadar Hospital. He said that the murderers were known.

The SP further said that both the groups of the village had clashed many years ago in which several persons were killed. Ramadhar Singh was arrested and was in jail in this regard. Some days ago he had come out of the jail on bail. In the morning he along with his sons was harvesting wheat crops in his field at Raghunipur village under Udwantnagar police station. As per the primary information, said the SP that his own nephew along with some miscreants fired and pumped bullets into the bodies and killed them.

Jagesh Singh, son of the deceased said that a dispute was going on since 2009 with the village’s bullies over two kattha of land and they killed his father and brother in the morning today when they were harvesting crops in the field. They miscreants also fired at him but he somehow escaped narrowly and ran to safety.

Meanwhile, miscreants and the police exchanged fire in Bhojpur in which two miscreants received bullet injuries and were admitted to the Ara Sadar Hospital. The injured miscreants were identified as Binod Kumar andn Lalan Kumar. Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav along with heavy police force rushed to the spot and is camping at the incident site. Police have cordoned off the area and have launched search operation to arrest the miscreants.

After the double murder today morning at Raghunipur village under Udwantnagar police station, police were investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Meanwhile, some armed miscreants fired on police force. The police had also to retaliate in the same manner. Exchange of fire took place for quite some time and two miscreants were injured and were admitted to the Ara Sadar Hospital. Tension prevails in and around the area following the incident though situation is stated to be under control.
