MISCREANTS SHOT DEAD A YOUTH

ARA-----------------------------Some unidentified armed miscreants shot at and injured a youth at Bhadwar village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district in the late night on January 4, 2024 when he was sitting near a bonfire in a garden of the village. The injured was identified as Santosh Kumar 18 son of Dinesh Rai of Bhadwar village under Chandi police station. Dinesh Rai is a group D employee of the railway and was posted as Key Man at Zamira Halt. The injured was admitted to the Ara Sadar Hospital though the doctor referred him to the Patna Medical College and Hospital in Patna after first aid in precarious condition but he succumbed to his injuries on way to Patna. Patna. Reason behind the incident is still to be ascertained. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Chandi police station in this regard and the police are investigating the matter.

Sudama, cousin brother of the deceased said that Santosh Kumar had come out of his house at about 9pm on January 4, 2024 after taking meal but he did not return till midnight. The family members searched for him everywhere but in vain. At about midnight, his friend informed the mother on mobile that someone had shot at and injured Santosh Kumar and so they were taking him to the PMCH but he succumbed to his injures near Mithapur in Patna. After that they returned with the body. The family members informed the police in this regard and the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Sudama blamed three youths including Chandan and Manish of the village and added they had called Santosh Kumar on mobile and after that the incident took place.

SHO Chandi Police Station Sourabh Kumar said that police are investigating the matter and detained one friend of the deceased for interrogation.
