MISCREANTS LOOTED Rs. 16.50 LAKH FROM AXIS BANK

At least five armed miscreants in their teens in guise of customers entered the Axis Bank situated at Bajaj Mor at Pakari locality under Nawada police station at about 1.15 am today and downed the shutter of the bank. They made all the 12 staffs of the bank captive and snatched their mobiles. They confined 10 staffs in the canteen while confined the Bank Manager in the chamber and the guard in the Bathroom. Meanwhile one of the customers somehow escaped from the bank and so the miscreants became afraid. They looted Rs.16.50lakh from the counter and decamped with the booty and failed to loot the locker. One staff of the bank had hidden his mobile and informed the police regarding the incident.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav along with police force rushed to the spot within 15 minute of incident and surrounded the bank from all sides. They police warned miscreants to surrender for about 30 minutes but till the miscreants had escaped from the scene. A team of the police intruded the bank after breaking the lock of the shutter and rescued the staffs from the canteen situated about four feet from the bank. On staff Meeraz said that about 8 armed miscreants had come to bank and his two staffs were still inside the bank. The police wearing bullet proof jackets searched each nook and corner of the bank and miscreants were not found there. The police rescued the Bank Manager from the chamber and the guard from the bathroom.
Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the staffs had told him that the miscreants were inside the bank and the staff of the bank had locked the shutter from outside and so this rumour cost some time. He further said that the miscreants had beaten the guard and somehow entered the bathroom and locked from inside. The miscreants forcibly took the Bank Manager to the locker room to open the lockers but as a customer escaped from the bank, the miscreants left the Bank Manager inside the chamber and decamped with Rs. 16.50 lakh looted from the counter. The customer did return to the bank even after the police arrived at the spot.
The SP further stated that first of all two miscreants in guise of customers entered the bank on the pretext of opening of bank account and confined all the persons present there at gun point and looted Rs. 13 lakh from the counter and Rs. 3.5 lakh deposited by a customer. He said that he had CCTV footage and the police are conducting raids to arrest them.
