MINOR GIRL BURNT TO DEATH ALIVE WHILE SLEEPING

ARA (RNI) One minor girl burnt to death when a thatched house in which she was sleeping caught fire at Bichhiawa village under Sandesh police station in Bhojpur district in the morning. The deceased was identified as Kanika Kumari 4 daughter of Kamlesh Pal of Bichhiawa village under Sandesh police station. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital. Police are investigating the matter as to how the fire caught the thatched house.

Bijendra Bhagat, grandfather of the deceased said that Kanika Kumari had four sisters. One of them had gone to her maternal grandfather while one had gone to school and the third one was playing outside of the house and Kanika Kumari was sleeping in her thatched house and her mother had gone to the market. The girl who was playing outside came to drink water and saw that the house was engulfed into fire. She raised alarm. Hearing her cry, the villagers came and somehow extinguished the fire but till the girl Kanika Kumari who was sleeping was burnt to death alive. The villagers informed the police at once. On information the police arrived at the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
