MINOR BOY DIES AFTER SNAKEBITE

Ara, 6 July 2023, (RNI): Family members went on rampage and created ruckus at the Ara Sadar Hospital after the death of a minor boy during treatment. They also scuffed with the doctor on duty and blamed that the doctor killed the child. The deceased was identified as Adarsh Kumar 8 son of Vinay Kumar Singh of Chaumukha village under Ara Muffassil police station in Bhojpur district. 

Vinay Kumar Singh father of the deceased said that Adarsh Kumar was sleeping on his bed in the room at Chaumukha village under Ara Muffassil police station when a venomous snake stung him at about midnight. The family members rushed him to the Ara Sadar Hospital at once but he could not be saved. He further said that the doctor admitted him in the emergency ward without seeing him and also did not administered anti-venom saline saying that symptoms of snake bite was not visible while they had brought the snake that had bitten with them and at last the child died. After the death of the child, the family members became agitated and created ruckus at the Ara Sadar Hospital and also manhandled the doctor.

Dr. S K Pandey said that the family members were telling about snake bite but there was no symptom of snake bite, yet treatment was being done and in the meantime, the child died and the family members are unnecessarily accusing him.

Sources said that the family members after being bitten by a snake, took the child to Amawa Sati Mai at Bihia for treatment which is said to cure snakebite but even after a lot of exorcism, the child could not be saved.

It is worth mentioning here that even in the 21^st century, when the world is exploring the space, people in India prefer exorcists for cure of evil spirits and snakebite even though it always hurts them but even after explaining, they do not agree.
