MINOR BOY CRUSHED TO DEATH, ROAD BLOCKED

ARA (RNI) A speeding truck crushed to death a minor boy at Koshihan village under Chandi police station on Sakaddi-Nasariganj main road. The deceased was identified as Pawan Kumar 10 son of Mahesh Sao of Koshihan village. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Irate villagers blocked the Sakaddi-Nasariganj State Highway near Koshihan village and paralyzed the movement of vehicles for about 10 hours. They burnt tyres on road and raised slogans against the officials of the Bhojpur district administration and demanded compensation for the family members of the deceased. They also demanded ban on plying of sand laden trucks during day hour, setting of boards of speed limit of the trucks and construction of speed breakers on roads. The blockade could be lifted after positive response of the officials. The BDO also gave a cheque of Rs. 20000 to the family of the deceased.

The onlookers said that Pawan Kumar was going to his neighbour from his house and as he came out of his house, a speeding truck dashed him and also dragged him to some distance. The driver tried to escape but the villagers chased and caught the driver with the truck near Vishunpur village. The police rushed the injured to the Ara Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. The police got the postmortem done there and handed over the body to the family members.
