Buxar, 31 May 2023, (RNI): Sand mafias pelted the Mines Inspector with stones in Buxar when he went to the sand ghats for inspection. He somehow escaped and safeguarded himself.
The Mines Inspector Akash Pandey along with police force at about 4am went to inspect ongoing illegal mining of sand at Rajpur area in Buxar district and smuggling of sand from Buxar to Uttar Pradesh when sand mafias attacked on police force and also pelted with stones in which Akash Pandey and some police personnel were mildly injured and head lights of the vehicle were damaged. The mines Inspector apprised the senior officials of the district of the incident but the police failed to arrest a single sand mafia so far. Officials of the Mines Department said that the senior officials are least interested in cooperating them resulting attack on junior officials. The senior officials rest in AC rooms and send the junior officials for inspection and never take action if any untoward incident happened.
