MIDDLE AGED WOMAN CRUSHED TO DEATH, ROAD BLOCKED

Ara (RNI) A speeding truck knocked down a middle aged woman on the Railway Over Bridge at Bihia under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district when she was going on foot. Later the driver escaped with the truck. The deceased was identified as Saraswati Devi 50 wife of late Anchal Singh. The irate residents of the area became agitated and blocked the Bihia-Bihata State Highway 102 and paralyzed the movement of vehicles. They raised slogans against the district administration and demanded arrest of truck driver and compensation for the family for the deceased. The road blockade could be lifted after positive response of the officials. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was posted as a clerk in the S B College, Ara.

Saraswati Devi lived with her daughter Mamata Devi and son-in-law Kapil Singh at Khadara village near Bihia under the same police station. She along with her daughter Mamata Devi and son Hari Om Kumar had gone to a Mall at Dak Bungalow, Bihia for shopping and after that she was returning home on foot. When she came on Rail Over Bridge, a speeding truck knocked her down and killed her. Later the driver escaped with the truck.
