“Gandhi Jee divided the country, Gandhi Jee did not try to spot the hanging of Bhagat Singh, forced Neta Jee Subhash Chandra Bose to resing from the post of the president of the All India Congress Committee, Gandhi Jee was anti-Hindu and pro Muslim”. All these baseless allegations like objection to Gandhi-Ambedkar Pact have been refuted categorically on the basis of historical facts.
Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Kumar said that before the independence movement, the country and society did not practice modern democracy. In the struggle for the freedom movement, the country’s democratic training began and the process of building a democratic nation on the basis of the Indian Constitution began which is still going on but for the last one decade, an evil attempt has been made to take the direction of nation building in the opposite direction by denying the Constitution which is a challenge for our society to counter on the basis of the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi.
Dr. Neeraj Singh said that only by adopting the values and ideals of democracy in our conduct and behaviour, we can move towards building a democratic nation. Susil Tiwari said that building a democratic nation is possible only on the basis of proper representation of the majority community which Mahatma Gandhi had shown us. G Kendra Kumar said that the path of non-violence and Satyagraha Gandhi gave direction to the country by living democratic values which were egalitarian, tolerant and all-inclusive. As soon as independence was achieved, adult franchise was given to all the citizens through the Constitution in which the non-violent democratic commitment of Mahatma Gandhi and the important contribution of Jawahar Lal Nehru and Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar were made. Prof. Baliraj Thakur said that today a malicious attempt is being made to convert democracy into mob system and communal frenzy due to which it is our responsibility to alert the society. Jagatanandan Sahay paid tribute to the Father of the Nation by reciting a poem written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
Director Sarvodaya Mandal District President and Gandhian activist Ram Nath Thakur said that it was important to know the thoughts and ideals of Gandhi in today’s society and especially the youth and for this, people who believe in Gandhi need to make joint efforts.
Ashok Manav said that it is a challenge for us to run a public awareness campaign against communal and fanatic politics and for this we will have to prepare the new generation.
On this occasion, Sarfaraz Ahmed Harendra Kumar Bihari, Sudhir Mishra, IPTA artist Alka Sharan, Ambe Sharan, Atul Prakash, advocate Alok Kumar Deepak, Nand Kishore Singh, Anand Mohan Sinha, Ramakant Thakur, Pramod Kumar Rai, Shriram Yadav, Baban Yadav etc. also presented their views as tribute.
