MARRIED WOMAN STRANGULATED TO DEATH FOR DOWRY

ARA-------------------------One married woman was strangulated to death with a rope merely more dowry at Khairaha village under Dhangai police station in the afternoon. The police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Kajal Kumari 25 wife of Mrityunjay Kumar Singh of Khairaha village. Police are investigating the matter.

Jitendra Singh of Ishwar Singh Ka Tola under Jagdishpur police station and father of the deceased said that he married his daughter Kajal Kumari with Mrityunjay Singh son of Ram Sakal Singh of Khairaha village under Dhangai police station on February 11, 2021. Since her husband, mother-in-law and sister-in-law tortured her for money as dowry to purchase land in Jagdishpur and the money of scholarship she got after passing the graduate examination. Meanwhile she became pregnant but the in-laws continued torturing her and so he brought her with him where she begot a female child. After delivery he against sent his daughter to her in-law’s house. He further said that he had talk with her on October 6, 2023 for the last time when she had told that her in-laws mentally tortured her. In the meantime, he got information that his daughter was killed. He immediately rushed to Khairaha village where he found his daughter lying on the floor of the house and all her in-laws had fled away from the scene. He at once informed the police. The police arrived at the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Police are investigating the matter.
