MARRIED WOMAN STRANGULATED TO DEATH
One newly married woman was strangulated to death at Machwar village under Shivsagar police station in Rohtas district merely for dowry.
Sasaram, 1 June 2023, (RNI): One newly married woman was strangulated to death at Machwar village under Shivsagar police station in Rohtas district merely for dowry. The deceased was identified as Dhanwantari Devi 19 wife of Jitan Bind. The police recovered the body and also brought it to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital for postmortem. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Shivsagar police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants.
Quoting the FIR, the SHO Shivsagar police station said that Dhanwantari Devi 19 daughter of Bhagat Bind of Hetampur village under Tier police station in Bhojpur district was married to Jitan Bind 22 son of Bula Bind of Manchawar village under Shivsagar police station in Rohtas district a year ago and since the in-laws tortured her for dowry and when their demands were not fulfilled, they strangulated her to death.
