MARRIED WOMAN KILLED FOR GOLD CHAIN

Ara 16 Sunday 2023, (RNI): One married woman was strangulated to death at Saraiya Bazaar under Krishnagarh police station in Bhojpur in the late evening on April 15, 2023 merely for a gold chain. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Payal Kumar 25 wife of Aditya Sah of Saraiya village. An FIR was lodged with the police under Krishnagarh police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also arrested the deceased’s father-in-law Bharat San and the grandfather-in-law Bazaari Sah so far.

Sujeet Sah, father of the deceased and resident of Charghat Chanaur village under Bihia police station said that he married his daughter Payal Kumari to Aditya Sah son of Bharat Sah of Saraiya village under Krishnagarh police station in the year 2018and she had one daughter Golu Kumari 4 and a son Nitish Kumar 2 with the marriage. But Aditya Sah and her in-laws always tortured her physically and mentally merely for a 50 gram gold chain and when their demand was not fulfilled, they strangulated her to death and hanged the body to the ceiling of the house to give colour of suicide and informed him in the late evening about her death.

The SHO Krishnagarh police station Vivek Kumar said that several goods were scattered in the room and added that it seemed that she had committed suicide. He further said that the reason of the death would be confirmed only after the postmortem report is received.
