Dogged by day to day torture by her in-laws, a married woman committed suicide by consuming poison at Salempur village under Dhobaha police station in Bhojpur district. The in-laws admitted her to the Shahapur hospital where the doctor declared her dead. They were taking the body to disposed it off but seeing the police they threw the body on the bank of Teksemara Ganga Ghat and escaped.

ARA----------------------------Dogged by day to day torture by her in-laws, a married woman committed suicide by consuming poison at Salempur village under Dhobaha police station in Bhojpur district. The in-laws admitted her to the Shahapur hospital where the doctor declared her dead. They were taking the body to disposed it off but seeing the police they threw the body on the bank of Teksemara Ganga Ghat and escaped. Later the police recovered the body from there and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Nisha Devi 22 wife of Bharat Yadav of Salempur village.
SHO Dhobaha police station Sanjeev Kumar said that the parents of the deceased lived at Katihar and after their arrival, an FIR will be lodged with the police in this regard. During initial investigation, it came to light, said the SHO that her in-laws frequently tortured her physically and mentally unnecessarily and so she consumed poison and when her condition deteriorated, the in-laws took her to a hospital at Shahpur where she breathed her last during treatment. He further said that the in-laws were taking the body to bury but the police, on information arrived at the scene on time. Seeing the police, the in-laws threw the body on the bank of Teksemar Ganga Ghat and fled away from the scene.
