Ara, 11 June 2023, (RNI): One married woman was burnt to death at Mukundpur village under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district merely for dowry. Later the in-laws disposed of the body to erase evidence.
The deceased was identified as Sunita Devi 33 wife of Anil Kumar Singh of Mukundpur village. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Charpokhari police station in this regard on the statement of the father of the deceased against three persons including the husband Anil Kumar Singh and the father-in-law Parmeshwar Singh alias Bhuwar Singh. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.
Janardan Singh of Niga village under Bikramganj police station in Rohtas district married his daughter Sunita Devi with Anil Kumar Singh son of Parmeshwar Singh alias Bhuwar Singh of Mukundpur village under Charpokhari police station about 10 years ago. In a written petition given to police, Janardan Singh blamed that her daughter’s in-laws killed her and disposed of the body to erase evidence.
