MARRIED WOMAN BEATEN TO DEATH
One married woman was beaten to death at Bhadwar village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district in the late evening on April 1, 2023 merely for a tractor.
Ara, 2 April 2023, (RNI): One married woman was beaten to death at Bhadwar village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district in the late evening on April 1, 2023 merely for a tractor. The deceased was identified as Baby Devi 26 wife of Golu Kumar of Bhadwar village. Later the police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The doctor preserved viscera to be sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). A named FIR was lodged with the police under Chandi police station in this regard on the statement of family of the deceased and the police arrested the husband Golu Kumar and the mother-in-law Mateshwari Devi of the deceased and sent them to jail.
Ramesh Kumar, brother of the deceased said at the Ara Sadar Hospital his sister Baby Devi of Sarkunha village under Dulhin Bazaar police station in Patna distrct to Golu Kumar of Bhadwar village under Chandi police station in Bhojpur district on June 6, 2020. Since she was tortured physically and mentally for a tractor though, they had given Rs. 4 lakh in cash, a vehicle, fridge and other items at the time of marriage. He further said he had given Rs. 50,000 two years ago for tractor but the in-laws pressurized her for Rs. 1.5 lakh more. He had approached the Chandi police station in this regard but the SHO said to compromise. And at last the in-laws, when their demand was not fulfilled, beat her to death and informed him that she was ailing. He came to Bhadwar village today and found his sister dead and her husband and mother-in-law were not there. Meanwhile, the villagers informed him that Golu Kumar and Mateshwari Devi had taken shelter in a garden of the village. On information, he along with other went there and caught Golu Kumar and his mother Mateshwari Devi and handed them over to police.
