MARRIAGE COULD NOT BE SOLEMNIZED, BARAT HAD TO RETURN WITHOUT BRIDE

Ara, 17 March 2023, (RNI): A marriage could not be solemnized at Bihia after friend of bridegroom caught hand of the bride instead of groom and the barat from New Delhi had to return with wry face without bride.

A barat from New Delhi had come to Bihia Bazaar Mela Road at Bihia Nagar under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district and a marriage was to be solemnized at a guest house there. The ‘jaimaal’ was to be started when a friend of the bridegroom in drunken stage caught hand of the bride that caused ripple among the family members of the bride and they protested. The situation became grave and both the groups made much hue and cry and also clashed over the issue. Later the bride’s family refused to marry their daughter and resulted return of the barat without marriage.
