Legal awareness camp organized on sexual harassment of women at workplace

Hardoi (RNI)  Today in the Tehsil Bilgram Auditorium, as per the instructions of National Legal Services Authority New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority Lucknow, as per the orders of District Legal Services Authority Hardoi's Chairman/District Judge Hon. Sanjeev Shukla and Secretary/Additional District Judge Bhupendra Pratap Ji, as per the instructions of Tehsil Legal Services Committee Tehsil Bilgram, Secretary/Tehsildar Shri Amit Kumar Yadav Ji, under the joint chairmanship of Administrative Officer Shri Damodar Prakash Bajpai and Principal Shri Sunil Rastogi Ji, a legal awareness camp was organized in V.G.R. Inter College on the subject of sexual harassment of women at workplace. In which Legal Aid Clinic Ashish Tiwari told that in case of sexual harassment and other problems at workplace, information was given to use Women Helpline number 1090 and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace, Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal, Act 2013 is known as POCSO Act. This rule was made to prevent vaginal birth of women and to remove the complaints related to them.

The Tehsil Administrative Officer told that this Act is applicable on both private and government organizations. If a woman suffering from sexual harassment at workplace makes a complaint, then all her information will be kept confidential. To register a complaint, a complaint can be filed with the internal committee formed in the office or at the police station. Both the internal committees have to submit their investigation report to the company. If found guilty, the company punishes the accused. If the victim woman is unable to make her complaint, then her legal heir or such other person can file a complaint.

Principal Sunil Rastogi told the women and girls about various helpline numbers under Nari Suraksha Mission Shakti Abhiyan, such as Women Power Line 1090, Women Helpline 181, Chief Minister Helpline 1076, Police Emergency Service 112, Child Helpline 1098, Health Service 102, Ambulance Service 108, Cyber Helpline 1930, and CUG numbers of police stations, and also gave information about public welfare schemes run by the Government of India. School spokesperson Abhishek Kumar, Assistant Teacher Neeraj Kumar, staff and girls were present at the camp.
