LIQUOR SMUGGLERS ATTACKED POLICE, INJURED HALF A DOZEN

Liquor smugglers pelted with stones and also attacked on police force with traditional weapons when the police force went to Lal Bazaar at Agarsanda village under Dhobaha police outpost in Bhojpur district in the late evening on March 26, 2023 in which over half a dozen police personnel were injured though the Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav denied any injury.

Ara, 27 March 2023, (RNI): Liquor smugglers pelted with stones and also attacked on police force with traditional weapons when the police force went to Lal Bazaar at Agarsanda village under Dhobaha police outpost in Bhojpur district in the late evening on March 26, 2023 in which over half a dozen police personnel were injured though the Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav denied any injury. The liquor smugglers also damaged a vehicle of the police and freed three liquor smugglers from the clutch of the police. Later police officials from Ara along with heavy police force reached the incident site and brought the situation under control. Seeing the police force, the liquor smugglers escaped from the scene. Police are conducting raids to arrest the liquor smugglers.

A police team, on information, conducted raid at Lal Bazaar at Agarsanda village under Dhobaha police outpost in the late evening on March 26, 2023 and arrested three liquor smugglers. The police was to take the arrested liquor smugglers to police station when dozens of liquor smugglers attacked the police force with traditional weapons and also pelted with stones on them under the cover of darkness injuring at least half a dozen police personnel and also freed the arrested liquor smugglers. They also damaged a police van. The police force had to retreat to safety. On information, police officials from Ara along with heavy police force arrived at the spot. Seeing police force, the liquor smugglers fled away from the scene. Police officers are conducting raids to arrest the liquor smugglers.

Sources said that police had conducted raid at Bind Toli at Lal Bazaar on Saturday and arrested a number of people but later released them after interrogation. It was said that relatives had come to the Bind community family when the police raided and arrested youths that caused resentment among them. When the police once again raided on March 26, 2023, the villagers attacked with traditional weapons and also pelted with stones on police force forcing them to retreat. It was said that about half a dozen police personnel including the police driver Dilip Ojha, Chowkidar Ghura Yadav, SI Anil Kumar were injured.

Bhojpur SP Pramod Kumar Yadav said that the police had gone to Agarsanda village under Dhobaha police outpost to conduct raid when women and some villagers threw stones on police force in which window pan of vehicle was damaged. He said that an FIR has been lodged with the police under Dhobaha police outpost in this regard and the police are conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. He denied any injury.
