LIQUOR SMUGGLERS ATTACKED EXCISE DEPARTMENT, INJURED THREE POLICE PERSONNEL

Sasaram (RNI) Three police personnel were injured when liquor smugglers attacked the team of Excise Department at Bahradh village under Sasaram Muffassil police station in Rohtas district. The injured police personnel were identified as SI Nitish Kumar, ASI Dharmendra Kumar and Manish Kumar. A team of Excise Department had gone to Bahradh village under Sasaram Muffassil police station to conduct raid to arrest liquor smugglers. The injured police personnel were admitted to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital.

Deputy Commissioner, Excise Department Tarique Mahmood said that the Excise Department got information of sale and brewing of liquor at Bahradh village under Sasaram Muffassil police station in Rohtas district. So a team of Excise Department went there to conduct raid. Seeing the team of Excise Department, the liquor smugglers tried to escape from the scene with the bottles of liquor. When the Excise police tried to arrest them, the liquor smugglers including woman folk protested and attacked the team. They pelted with stones and injured three police personnel. The police personnel escaped to safety. Seeing the police personnel fleeing, the liquor smugglers snatched the seized bottles of liquor and also got the arrested liquor smugglers freed from the clutches of the police and escaped from the scene.

It may be mentioned here that the liquor smugglers had attacked the team of Excise Department at Dayal Bigaha under Sasaram Muffassil police station on June 5, 2023 when a team of Excise Department went there to arrest the liquor smugglers in which seven police personnel including a lady constable.
