BHABHUA---------------------------Sleuth of Excise Department, Kaimur, acting on a tip off, arrested two liquor smugglers from near Mohania Chowki under the same police station in Kaimur district and seized 648 litre of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and a Pick-Up van. The arrested liquor smugglers were identified as Kundan Kumar son of Maheshwar Das of Bachhauli village under Khanpur police station in Samastipur district in Bihar and Ramesh Kumar son of Chhedilal of Murlikapur village under Bagrai police station in Pratapgarh district in Uttar Pradesh. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Mohania police station against the arrested liquor smuggler under the New Excise Act and the police sent them to jail after interrogation.

SI Om Prakash said that the police got information that IMFL was being smuggled from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh to Samastipur in Bihar via Mohania. The police immediately swung into action and started vehicle checking drive. Meanwhile, the police saw a Pick Up van from Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh was coming and the Sleuth of Excise Department intercepted the Pick-UP Van and found 648 litre of IMFL was hidden under gunny bags of red peppers. The police at once arrested both the liquor smugglers on Pick-Up van and seized the Pick-Up van and IMFL. During interrogation, the liquor smugglers revealed that they were coming from Pratpgarh in Uttar Pradesh and were going to Samstipur in Bihar to deliver the consignment there
