BHABHUA--------------------------Sleuth of Excise Department arrested a youth and seized 40 cartons of India Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and a Safari vehicle from Dumari-Trojpur main road under Durgawati police station in Kaimur district. The arrested liquor smuggler was identified as Manish Kumar Kharwar 24 of Lohadi village under Ithadi police station in Buxar district. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Durgawati police station in this regard against the arrested liquor smuggler under the New Excise Act and the police later sent him to jail after interrogation.
SI Om Prakash of the Excise Department said that the Excise Department has launched intensive checking drive to check liquor smuggling on the bordering roads connecting Bihar from Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Sleuths of the Excise Department intercepted a Safari vehicle on the Dumari-Tirojpur Canal road and when searched, 40 cartons of IMFL were recovered. The police arrested the liquor smuggler and also seized the vehicle.
