JEWELLERY BUSINESSMAN SHOT DEAD IN ROHTAS

SASARAM-------------------------Some unidentified armed miscreants shot dead a jeweler in between Ganj and Bhadrasara villages under Dinara police station of Bikramganj in Rohtas district when he was returning home after closing his shop at Bhadrasara market in the late evening on his motorcycle. The deceased was identified as Prince Verma 45 son of Kameshwar Prasad of Ganj village. An FIR was lodged with the police under Dinara police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Wife of the deceased blamed that he was killed due to family dispute.

SDPO, Bikramganj, Kumar Sanjay said that Prince Verma was returning home with a bag full of jewelries on his motorcycle after closing his jewelry shop at Bhadrasara village under Dinara police station in Rohtas district in the late evening when he reached near the tri-junction, motorcycle borne three armed miscreants came from behind and tried to snatch the jewelries bag. When Prince Verma protested, the miscreants shot at and decamped with the jewelry bag. The locals rushed the injured to the Primary Health Centre at Dinara but he succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

The SDPO said that the relatives of the deceased are not giving clear information about the robbery case. He said that it seemed that the businessman was shot with the intention of murder. Family dispute is also said to be cause behind the incident. Police are investigating from all angles.

Rohtas SP Roshan Kumar said that the deceased’s wife Mamta Devi has accused that he was murdered due to family dispute. The matter of robbery will be clear only after investigation. Three close people have been accused of getting the murder done.

It is said that Prince Verma was a witness in some case and was always threatened with dire consequences earlier.
